What is Protect in SoundBirth?
Protect is a feature available directly inside the SoundBirth app that allows artists to protect their released music through Musicstart by Sacem.
Musicstart provides artists with proof of authorship through a secure protection certificate.
Every protected track receives a certificate that can be used as evidence of your creation.

How to protect your music in SoundBirth
Protecting your songs only takes a few steps.
Step 1: Open your release
Go to your Releases Catalog inside SoundBirth.
Select the release containing the songs you want to protect.
You will see the PROTECT MY MUSIC button directly on your release page.
Step 2: Start your Musicstart protection
Tap PROTECT MY MUSIC.
SoundBirth will guide you through the process and check that your music is eligible for protection.
Step 3: Select your tracks
Choose the tracks you want to protect.
You can protect one song, several songs or your full release.
Once selected, Musicstart will generate proof of protection for your creations.
Can I protect my lyrics too?
Yes.
During the protection process, you can also add your lyrics and protect them alongside your music.
Your lyrics will receive a separate protection certificate.
Please note: lyrics protection must be requested during the initial protection process and cannot be added later.
How do I receive my Musicstart certificate?
Once your protection is complete, Musicstart generates your official certificate.
This certificate includes blockchain proof of your creation and helps establish your authorship.
You will receive a notification when your certificate is ready.

Where can I find my protection certificate?
Your certificates are always available inside SoundBirth.
To access them:
- Open your Releases Catalog
- Select your release
- Open TRACKS
- Select your protected song
- Open MUSICSTART PROTECTION
- Download your certificate in PDF format
If you protected your lyrics, your lyrics certificate will also be available here.
Is my music protected forever?
Yes.
Once a song has been protected, the protection remains active even if you decide to cancel your Musicstart subscription later.
Your existing certificates remain available as proof of your creation.
